The manufacturing date and year is coded into the serial number (not the model number) of the appliance. Our serial numbers begin with two letters. The first letter identifies the month and the second letter identifies the year. The corresponding letters, months, and years are below. For example, if the serial number begins with the letters 'GA. Anyway - the service tag in the unit says it's a Magic Chef 2030-3W. I've searched all over the unit for more details but can't find any - nor can I find any details online about this particular model.
What I'm looking for are two new uniburners and a new oven burner. The uniburners are starting to rust-out, and the oven burner is rusty and now has a long-delay in lighting. Both are pilot-driven and the pilots stay on, but the lighting delays are getting worse and worse.
Anyone have any ideas?
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Whirlpool Corp. announced a voluntary recall of more than 40,000 refrigerators.
According to repair.maytag.com, 46,000 Maytag, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag and Crosley brand refrigerators are being recalled because an electrical failure in the relay — the component that turns on the refrigerator's compressor — can overheat and poses a fire hazard.
The recall includes certain side-by-side and top freezer refrigerators. The affected refrigerators were manufactured in black, bisque, white and stainless steel. They have model and serial numbers printed on a label located on the top middle or left upper side of the refrigerator liner and have the following model and serial number combinations:

• Top freezer refrigerators: Serial numbers ending with CA, CC, CE, CG, ZB, ZD, ZF, ZH and model numbers begininng with CT15G4, CTB152, CTL151, CTM152, CTN151, MTB195, MTB215, MTB245, MTF195, MTF215, PTB155, PTB175, PTB195 and PTB215.

In addition to the recalls announced Tuesday, 1.6 million refrigerators were recalled in March for the same issue.
